Main screen redesign
launched for 200K+ users

My team and I developed a B2B payment and finance management app for Austria’s largest bank, serving
2.9M+ customers in the Russian quarter.

I led the main screen redesign initiative, which was
successfully launched on two platforms.

I analyzed user feedback from interviews, support, app reviews, and CSAT surveys, to identify problems with the main screen:

  1. History on the main screen confused users because they expect to see their in-process payments, but it only shows exact spending and income.

  1. Because of no sorting, users can see inactive account first with old transactions.

  1. Business owners and accountants want to view their accounts the same way as in the web version.

  1. Open deposits don't appear for users in the app version.

  1. Users don’t understand they can tap on the account to view the statement.

Payments to partners don't appear in 'Account History'—only card and bank payments are shown. This confused users, as they expected to see partner payments on the main screen, like on the web

Account list with sorting, like
the web version, instead of horizontal scrolling

Users started seeing sorting like in the web version, and clicking on an account to access the statement became clearer. We also intended to introduce new products, like savings accounts for taxes, which made scrolling even more difficult.

The payment creation '+' button moved from the right corner to the 'Create' tab

We decided to create a full tab since this is a key section
of the app, and users struggled to find the '+' button.

Unified history for all account transactions was created

Customers were misled by duplicated transaction histories, so I consolidated them into a single section named 'History'.

Signing multiple payments that was a highly requested feature

Signing multiple payments that was a highly requested feature

Business owners wanted a way to sign and pay multiple transactions, often initiated by accountants. I added this
to the home screen with push notifications, which disappear if no payments need a signature.

New entry point for services to boost landing page open rate

New entry point for services to boost landing page open rate

To increase user engagement with various bank services like bookkeeping, cards, accounts, and risk navigator,
I highlighted them on the home screen, aligning with the B2C mobile app layout. This led to more users using additional bank services.

Unified apps navigation

Users started to have a more consistent experience across the app, and in 2024, the B2C app also improved its design, making the apps even more cohesive.

After the update, some users complained that
it is now hard to find payments among many card transactions.

I noticed for the future that a big update needs more careful research.
